Based Near Venice, Italy | Extensive Regional Travel (60-70%)

We are seeking a  Sales Specialist  to support and grow our business throughout  Southern Europe , with a primary focus on  Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria, and Romania . This position plays a critical role in expanding Scanlan's Cardiovascular (CV), Non-CV, and Surgeon Preference product portfolios through distributor partnerships, product evaluations, training, and customer engagement.
This position will work closely with a dedicated Scanlan Sales Director and Regional Manager, who will provide day-to-day work direction, territory priorities, and strategic sales support.
Location Requirement    To support frequent international travel and customer engagement, the ideal candidate will be based  near Venice, Italy, or within convenient access to Venice Marco Polo Airport or another nearby international airport.
What You'll Do     Drive Sales Growth and Market Development      Achieve territory sales goals and objectives aligned with regional and international sales plans.
Identify opportunities to expand Scanlan's presence within hospitals, health systems, and distributor networks.
Promote the value of premium-quality surgical instruments and solutions through a consultative sales approach.
Develop strong relationships with surgeons, operating room teams, distributors, and healthcare stakeholders.
Participate in business planning, forecasting, and sales strategy initiatives.
Submit timely and accurate sales reports, activity reports, expense reports, and project updates.
Support order management activities including backorders, returns, and delivery coordination when required.
Partner with Distributors and Support Clinical Adoption      Work collaboratively with Scanlan Sales Directors, Regional Managers, and Distributor Representatives to grow sales across multiple product categories, including:
Cardiovascular (CV) Instrumentation, General Surgical Instrumentation, Neurosurgical Products, Urology Products, Plastic Surgery Products, Surgeon Preference Single-Use Products
Conduct product evaluations and support customers during clinical trials and demonstrations.
Deliver product training and education to distributor representatives and clinical users.
Assist with onboarding and development of distributor sales teams to strengthen product knowledge and selling effectiveness.
Attend and support regional and international surgical congresses, educational meetings, and trade shows.
Coordinate territory activities with distributor partners to ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and account coverage.
Travel Requirements    This is a highly field-based position requiring  60-70% travel  throughout Southern Europe.
Travel will primarily support customers and distributor partners across Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Romania
Additional travel throughout Europe may be required based on business needs.
What We're Looking For

- Required Qualifications     Education      Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Experience      Experience working in a sales, clinical, healthcare, medical device, or distributor-facing role.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (60-70%) by air, train, automobile, and other modes of transportation.
Skills       Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Italian are required.
Strong presentation, relationship-building, and customer engagement skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate technical product information to healthcare professionals and distributor partners.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications      3+ years of successful sales experience, preferably within surgical devices, medical devices, or healthcare products.
Demonstrated success working with distributor-based sales models.
Knowledge of surgical procedures, operating room environments, and surgical instrumentation.
Clinical healthcare background or medical sales experience.
