Volunteer Reader: Inspire Kids at Reading Clubs LA

Reading to Kids organizes monthly reading clubs on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at eight downtown Los Angeles elementary schools.

Volunteers must be 18 or older. Volunteers for reading clubs are encouraged but not required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with LAUSD COVID‑19 regulations. Wearing masks while indoors at the reading clubs is highly encouraged. The children will also be encouraged to wear masks while indoors.

Pairs of volunteer readers read aloud to small groups of students (typically 4–6 children per group) in a fun environment. Teachers at the elementary school provide supervision and guidance throughout the morning.
