Job Description & How to Apply Below
You’ll be responsible for:
Design, formulate, and test new ink formulations tailored to next-generation latex technologies, prioritizing sustainable materials and practices.
Collaborate with chemists, materials scientists, and engineers to optimize ink properties for both performance and minimal environmental impact.
Develop and optimize water-based/latex ink formulations (containing binders/latex dispersions, pigments, surfactants, humectants, coalescing aids, additives) from hypothesis to proof-of-feasibility.
Design and execute experiments/DoE; analyze rheology, surface/interfacial properties, dispersion quality, and jetting behavior; link material parameters to print quality and reliable performance.
Capture knowledge into models to enable predictive insights and accelerate development cycles.
Define and maintain ink requirements/specifications with stakeholders; translate print targets (e.g. image quality, robustness, reliability) into measurable material/process windows for inks.
Work on and/or define state-of-the-art test setups (e.g. for investigating jetting, coalescence/film formation, ink behavior on substrates) and keep methods and infrastructure up to date.
Assess stability, shelf-life, and transport conditions of latex inks; propose mitigation via formulation and process changes if needed.
Communicate clearly in reviews, share learnings, and help integrate the ink into the overall printing system.
Who You’ll Work With You’ll collaborate within a creative multidisciplinary Technology Development environment with chemists, material scientists, process engineers and system experts.
What You Bring Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
Experience in ink formulation, polymer chemistry, or sustainability-driven innovation is highly advantageous.
Creative thinker with a hands-on approach to early-stage R&D and an affinity for model-based ways of working.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to explore new directions, particularly those that advance environmental stewardship.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
