In this role as Supervisor Assembly Operations
, you will be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and execution of the operational activities of the assembly operation.
To keep a safe workplace for staff, lead by example on the floor, in cooperation with your peers. Lean manufacturing is the key word of this important responsibility, continuous improvement of all processes, as well as capacity planning for your staff of approximately 20 to 30 assembly operators. These operators make sure our assembly line is running efficiently with the right output at the right time.
The role is open for one of our premium products which allows a high level of lean manufacturing. There, continuous improvement is desired. Close cooperation with parts supply, Industrial Engineering, Equipment Engineering and Health and Safety officers is part of your daily work. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for:
- Critical situations in the factory environment and physical and mental Health and Safety standards at industry levels. Zero incidents is our main goal and the highest priority
- Setting up the short and mid-term staffing plans including skill matrix and monitoring the continuity, so that operation flows smoothly
- Discussing problems with the involved parties and solving them correctly, by using modern means and methods to come to a fast and efficient solution
- Coaching, developing and motivating your team to achieve the set goals and targets
- Signaling improvements, translating them into efficient proposals and implementing them via working methods such as LEAN manufacturing, Kaizen and 5S, and participating in 8
Ds where applicable - The annual Human Resource cycles of Canon, including task settings for your staff, development talks with your team and performance reviews of each individual at the end of the year
- Discussing new team members with other Operations Supervisors and organizing the needed staff level for the orders in manufacturing and logistics
- Reporting on the KPIs of your product line and proposing and executing appropriate improvements on a daily basis
You report directly to the Operations Manager.

What You BringWe are looking for a Supervisor with strong leadership skills and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or Associate degree, preferably in a technical direction
- Approximately 3 years of experience in a supervisor position, preferably within a production environment
- Experience in working and acting on Key Performance Indicators
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
- Fulltime available on site
