About the role:
As a Regional Distribution Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a strong compliance structure across our regional Distribution Operations. You will drive awareness and accountability for key compliance areas — including Health & Safety, Security, Trade Compliance, Inventory Control, and Operational Compliance You will work closely with our logistics operations, and the departments customs, quality, regulatory affairs, and external partners (such as carriers and LSP's), to ensure compliant, efficient, and transparent product flows from warehouse to customer.
Your role will be instrumental in building a “second line of defense” and ensuring Herbalife operates in line with internal policies, contractual requirements and applicable local, regional and international regulations. Via auditing, reporting, and advising on any deviations, you’ll help prevent risks to our people, customers, the environment, and operational costs. You’ll use our Control Framework to monitor performance and ensure we’re byways ready for internal or external audits — with no surprises.
You will report to Marcel Thomasse (Director Distribution and Logistics NE, CEE and Eurasian markets).
In this role, you will:
- Foster a strong compliance mindset and ensure teams are equipped to make risk-aware decisions.
- Ensure distribution activities comply with applicable regulations, internal SOPs, and quality standard using the Distribution Control Framework (DCF); report deviations and coordinate follow-up actions.
- Oversee the availability, accuracy, and implementation of SOPs related to customs, health & safety, inventory, , and security — in close collaboration with subject matter experts and act as a liaison between Distribution, Quality, Customs Regulatory Affairs, and external partners.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, maintain audit schedules, and follow up on any findings or risks.
- Lead or coordinate incident and accident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Perform regular checks on distribution data within WMS / ERP / tracking systems
- Identify compliance gaps, deviations, and improvement opportunities
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to distribution compliance.
- Conduct annual and ad hoc risk assessments for Distribution Operations and follow up with actionable improvement plans.
- Serve as the regional point of contact for compliance areas such as Health & Safety (incl. delegated 16.2 H&S role), and act as Chair of the Arbo Committee in Venray.
- Represent together with other Regional Distribution Compliance specialists EMEA Distribution Compliance in the Global Distribution Compliance Team, contributing to global standards, improvements, and best practice sharing. If possible, initiate or coordinate Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)–related projects within Distribution Operations.
Our requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in internal logistics activities, including auditing and safeguarding processes.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in ERP warehouse management environments.
- Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
- Experience and understanding of supply chain processes and their impact on order processing.
- Higher education (minimum HBO level or equivalent).
- Proficient in MS Office tools, particularly Excel and Access; experience with Oracle ERP and order fulfillment systems.
- Ability to understand, document, and audit local supply chain processes.
- Compliance mindset and risk awareness
- Capable of clearly writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and preparing training materials.
- Skilled at identifying critical situations and knowing when and how to elevate issues.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, with strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Proactive self-starter with good communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
