Critical Care Physician Assistant (PA) role at Community Memorial Healthcare. The PA provides advanced clinical support to the ICU team during night shifts, functioning as a physician extender, and serving as the first point of contact for ICU admissions. Collaboration with bedside nurses and respiratory therapists, and real-time management of urgent patient care needs are key responsibilities. The role covers a diverse patient population including respiratory failure, cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical conditions, sepsis, renal failure, neurologic emergencies, and other critical illnesses.

Responsibilities- Provide advanced clinical support to the ICU team during night shifts.
- Serve as the first point of contact for ICU admissions.
- Collaborate with bedside nurses and respiratory therapists.
- Manage urgent patient care needs in real time.
- Maintain continuity of care and improve responsiveness in the ICU overnight.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant
- National Board Certification as PA
- Current DEA license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Two (2) years of experience in acute inpatient or critical care setting
- Proficiency with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and ICU protocols
- Acute Care Physician Assistant
- Prior ICU or hospitalist night shift experience
- Comfort with high-acuity decision-making and managing complex cases independently overnight
- Skills in bedside procedures (e.g., intubation, central line placement)
- Familiar with Epic EMR system
Salary Range: $70.04 - $108.46 per hour. The pay range represents the lowest to highest rate, with placement depending on skills, experience, and comparison to others in the role. PRN rates differ from full-time or part-time positions.
