American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring telemetry experience and travel nursing background with an active CA RN license.

• MS/Tele Detox unit within a hospital setting
• Daily census of 18 with 21 beds
• Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Float requirement to Telemetry and Santa Paula Hospital as needed
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Uses Pyxis, Cerner, and SBAR communication systems

• Active CA RN license required (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• TNCC or TCAR required before start date
• CPI/MAB certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• MS/Tele and Telemetry work setting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line care required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and respiratory care (nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management) required
• Recent Nursys report and one supervisory reference required for consideration

• Provide nursing care across a broad range of specialties including cardiac, renal, neurological, orthopedic, and respiratory conditions
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA pumps
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• May float to Santa Paula Hospital, located approximately 15 minutes away, with advance notice
• Paid 1-hour orientation provided for Santa Paula Hospital floating assignments
• Standard training modules (approximately 4 hours) completed pre-start or during orientation
• 1-hour CA Harassment training course required
• Interview availability required in Pacific Standard Time
