Hendrick Automotive Group is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician with experience in diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs to prevent them from future breakdowns or issues. An ideal candidate should have knowledge in the automotive industry with a willingness to continue their training and certifications for successful career. KIA or similar import dealership experience in a main line technician role is a plus!

Pay Range

Up to $42 per hour (with a production bonus, pay is based on factors such as Technician level, certifications, and job performance). Top Performing KIA dealership!

Education/Experience

Automotive Technology, Vocational/Trade Certificate, High School Diploma or equivalent. Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems. Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge. Technical training commensurate technical experience required.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer.
  • Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests.
  • Completed manufacturer training to perform warranty repairs/recalls on most vehicles, PDI’s, maintenance, and minor repairs.
Skills Requirements

Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system. Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.

Communication Skills

Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.

Attendance Expectations

The position requires regular and predictable attendance in-person at an automotive dealership. Scheduled shifts are typically 5-days per week, rotating Saturdays, and may include holidays.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Environment Demands

Duties are performed primarily in the automotive service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.

Verbal and Writing Ability

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
