Quantity Surveying Technical Apprenticeship 2026 – East Berkshire
Join us for a full‑time earn‑and‑learn position with BAM, one of Europe’s largest construction companies. The five‑year apprenticeship will deliver hands‑on experience on multi‑million‑pound projects and will take you from Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship to a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship. You will be based in East Berkshire and work across a range of sectors, including sustainable infrastructure, commercial buildings and complex civil works.
ProgrammeStructure
- Years 1–2 – Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying, culminating in a Higher National Certificate (HNC) and progress towards professional recognition with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
- Years 3–5 – Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, delivering a full honours degree and further development towards CIOB chartered membership.
- Technical Development – Gain hands‑on experience and apply learning on site.
- Problem Solving – Overcome challenges on live projects, drive quality through effective planning and right‑first‑time delivery.
- On‑Site Experience – Work closely with our skilled workforce, apply and manage contracts, monitor costs, and record changes with senior quantity surveyors.
- Safety & Sustainability – Ensure safe work in line with company health and safety policies, maintain high environmental awareness, and monitor delivery against programme and construction methods.
Academic Requirements:
- GCSE grade 5 (B) or above in Maths
- GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in English Language
- 3 additional GCSEs, grade 4 or above
- 2 × STEM A‑Levels or finance, economics, business or relevant Level 3 qualifications (e.g., Civil Engineering, Construction in Built Environment – Quantity Surveying)
- T Level Design, Planning & Surveying for Construction (or an equivalent)
- Disciplined and able to manage degree‑level study alongside a busy job role
- A passion for learning and growing within the construction industry
- Highly numerate with strong attention to detail
- Adaptability when priorities change
- Willingness to work on site and travel as required
- Punctual, reliable, and committed to delivering high‑quality work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
- Full UK driving licence (necessary for remote project sites)
