Coding Instructor​/Code Sensei

Overview

Position:
Code Sensei – Part Time up to 20 hours/week | Weekday Afternoons, Evenings and Saturdays. The position would start with low hours and increase over time. Availability on Saturdays is required at this time.

Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest growing kids coding franchise. In our center, kids ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way by playing and building video games they love. Parents are thrilled as their children gain confidence and new skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving, as they progress from white to black belt. • Training – go through the curriculum, learn it and apply it to your teaching practices
• Undergo additional training in safety, company & center policies, customer service and more
• Participate in mandatory quarterly staff meetings and recurring individual meetings
• Assist with planning and delivery of programs, beyond those written in curriculum
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
• Oversee day-to-day coaching, activities and student engagement
• Work with children to determine skill sets
• Provide feedback to parents after working with student and through ongoing progress reports
• Follow opening/closing duties daily including cleaning, quality checks and more
• Clean center areas throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
• Report to center director on your own progress and projects, as well as the progress and projects of the students
• Other duties to be determined by the center director

• Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
• Experience working with the general public
• Flexible hours, particularly evenings and weekends
• Works well with others; collaborates, can be flexible and adaptable to quickly changing conditions
• Able to complete curriculum training on your own time
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
• Reliable transportation and commitment to working assigned shifts is mandatory
