The Kingdom East School District seeks a full‑time Consulting Special Education Supervisor located at the Lyndon Town School who will provide administrative oversight and duties in order to supervise school‑based special education and inclusionary/behavior programs, staff and services, and to coordinate them with regular education programs, home‑based services, and community‑based services for students with the highest needs. Candidates will have expertise in behavioral needs, SEL, and functional skills.
They will be integral participants of administrative and school teams. Responsibilities include administrator and supervisor duties, case management time, and directly working with students. The majority of time will be focused on building the capacity of KESD staff by modeling and coaching, and providing professional development related to the effective universal, intermediate, and intensive systems for students related to significant behaviors, autism, and high needs.
FTE’s must be able to travel between schools within the KESD district. Candidates should hold Vermont administrative licensure or be eligible and will continue to cultivate an inclusive, caring, and supportive school community, striving for equity of educational opportunity and culturally responsive practices to promote each student’s academic success and well‑being.
Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven preK‑8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools – Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy – or another high school of their choosing.
We are located about 3 hours from Boston, Montreal and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities.
