Intensive Instructional Assistant

Kingdom East Unified Union School District, Lyndon Town School, Lyndonville, Vermont

Starting Date: Immediately

The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking Intensive Instructional Assistants (IIA) to work at the Lyndon Town School. Candidates must be energetic and love working with children. The IIA position purpose is to develop and interpret individual needs of our youngest students in early childhood classrooms and support students with special needs by creating and implementing behavior and/or instructional support programs with the grade level special educator and classroom teacher.

Candidates must successfully complete the Para Pro assessment or hold an associate or higher degree. IIA provides observable student data that meet IEP Program goals of students with developmental delay and/or other special needs. Position will target goal-directive services to assist students in accessing instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional and independent manner. Background check, including fingerprinting, required upon employment.

Pay range: $19.95/hr – $25.80/hr.

Background:
The Lyndon Town School is part of the Kingdom East School District. We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have “choice” and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools – Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy – or another high school of their choosing. We are located about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston and Portland, ME.

Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and other outdoor opportunities.

Job Requirements
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
  • Successfully complete the Para Pro assessment or hold an associate or higher degree.
