The head field hockey coach is responsible for the general oversight and leadership of all aspects of the field hockey program.

• Manage daily operations of the NCAA Division III field hockey program under university, NCAA, and conference guidelines.
• Practice and game preparation, supervise assistant coaching staff.
• Recruitment and retention of qualified student‑athletes.
• Ensure academic success and student‑athlete welfare.
• Manage team travel logistics.
• Engage in alumni relations and fundraising activities.
• Support administrative duties within Athletics and Recreation Department as needed.

• Receives general supervision from the Director of Athletics.
• Exercised general supervision over part‑time assistant coaches, graduate assistants, student workers, and interns.

• Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, recreation, physical education, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree desirable.
• Two to four years relevant coaching experience, or equivalent education/experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Effective communication with students, college personnel, and NCAA compliance network.
• Understanding of university educational goals and commitment to accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Awareness of the challenges faced by economically and educationally disadvantaged students, especially in rural settings.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and follow‑through skills.
• Technical proficiency with athletic and administrative technology (e.g., Slate, Microsoft Office).
• Demonstrated ability to positively influence student skill development and support student success goals.
• Capacity to work weekends and evenings.

Base salary $52,000 - $58,000.
