Green Mountain Power is seeking an energetic, innovative Power Production Apprentice this summer. This apprentice position is a great opportunity for a mechanical engineering student or technically oriented person to gain practical and real‑world working experience in the electric utility industry. By the end of the summer, this person will have acquired knowledge on electrical mechanical circuits, mechanical generators, various electrical equipment, communication, and more importantly, they will have learned how to work as part of a team across various business units.
This wind tower technician will spend their time primarily working at our Searsburg wind generation facility. In addition, they will be spending time working on our hydro production plants and solar generation facilities.
Candidate Requirements- Valid driver's license
- 18+ years of age
- Ability to climb to heights of 130' (and successful completion of evacuation procedure)
- Previous climbing experience
- Basic knowledge of electricity
- Knowledge of hand tools
- Knowledge of electronic circuits
- Knowledge of gear boxes
