Lead Manufacturing Specialist (cold/hot forming/forging)
Engineering associated with the hot and cold forming of compressor airfoils. Impacts departmental operations and is responsible for projects to reduce lead time and cost as well as daily support and problem solving. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Roles and Responsibilities- Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of product, tools, or equipment.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
- A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
- Own a family of product and all technical/engineering aspects. Responsible for cost as well as working with production team to strategize projects, scheduling and machine maintenance.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience) + Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
- Hot or cold forming experience.
- Computer applications: CAD, NX, MS Office, Minitab.
- Experience with cost saving projects.
The salary range for this position is $83,800.00 - $ USD Annual. The posting is expected to close on November 25, 2025.
