What You Will Have An Opportunity To DoWe are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Captain to join our team. This individual will help direct the set‑up and preparation of banquet rooms for events, serve and bus tables, and clear and break down banquet rooms at the end of the function. Assisting the F&B Director, Banquet Manager, and Assistant F&B Manager, you will lead the performance of all hourly banquet food and beverage servers and serve as the personal representative of the property to banquet guests, striving to deliver exceptional service.
- Read BEOs and lead in function setup and breakdown
- Collaboratively interact with other departments towards the success of the event
- Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and putting out table centerpieces
- Serve by picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays to the location, serving food, and clearing the tables
- Break down by bussing tables, putting away dirty linens and centerpieces, and vacuuming
- Clean the back hall and organize storerooms and closets
- Set up and service break stations (coffee, tea, snacks, beverages, etc.)
- Perform F&B pre‑event duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring workstations are stocked
- Serve food and beverages to guests
- Remove dishes, glasses, silverware, from tables/countertops and take them to the kitchen
- Clean and sanitize tables and/or counters and seats after guests leave
- Offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods, and ingredients
- Be knowledgeable of any special requests and dietary issues made by the guest or on a BEO
- Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guests
- Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service
- Address any guest issue promptly and with high concern
- Maintain constant awareness of safety issues (e.g., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, suspicious persons)
- Provide general resort information
- Assist in restaurant areas or with restaurant staff as needed
- 2–4 years of food service experience, preferably banquet service
- Experience in a 4‑star or 5‑star venue with synchronized service
- Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- A passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
- Excellent leadership, motivation, and communication skills
$13.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. Compensation may differ at other locations due to labor cost considerations.
