Summary of RoleGlobal Foundries Fab 9 is seeking skilled and motivated candidates to participate in the Global Foundries Maintenance Technician Program with Vermont Technical College. Candidates will work full‑time while attending one Vermont Technical College course per semester for three semesters per year. The program pays for nine technical courses, offers on‑the‑job training, and awards a certificate toward a 2‑year Associate’s Degree in General Engineering.
Upon successful completion and satisfactory performance, candidates will receive a tuition reimbursement opportunity through the Global Foundries Tuition Reimbursement Program.
The maintenance technician will perform preventive and first‑call maintenance on semiconductor and support equipment, execute Quality Standard Work, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment productivity. The position is in the 200 mm factory in Essex, Vermont, and is a compressed 12‑hour shift schedule that could be a day or night shift depending on business need.
Essential Responsibilities- Operate equipment and execute preventive and first‑call maintenance on semiconductor equipment.
- Participate in the Global Foundries Technician Program.
- Communicate effectively and work within a tightly coupled team.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or high school tech‑center education.
- Travel 0‑5%.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
- Physical capacity to perform shift work on a 12‑hour schedule, work in a cleanroom environment, wear required protective clothing, stand for most of the shift, and lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis.
