Location:
Richford, VT plant. This is a full-time, 1st shift opportunity. KENT offers a competitive wage and outstanding benefits package including health insurance and a 401K plan.
- Hourly rate: $21.00 - $23.00, subject to variation based on skills, responsibilities, location, and other factors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Report any factors that may influence quality and safety of finished feed and ingredients to immediate supervisor.
- Unload ingredients efficiently and proficiently. Notify Quality Control Supervisor before unloading any ingredients that do not meet standards.
- Set up distributor heads, slides, legs, and conveyors so ingredient goes onto proper bin while preventing cross-contamination.
- Complete ingredient unloading authorization form and have it checked before starting unload.
- Check car door seals; report if broken; verify seal number matches bill of lading.
- Take probe samples per quality control procedures before unloading.
- Familiarize with ingredients.
- Check color, odor, particle size, contamination.
- Inspect cars for roof or floor leaks.
- Use care and safety precautions when handling equipment.
- Inform Maintenance Supervisor of equipment performance; complete maintenance request forms for malfunctioning equipment.
- Keep area clean and neat.
- Assist in any area of production as requested by shift supervisor.
- At shift end, brief next shift unloader on unloading status.
- Clean leg magnets at beginning of each shift.
- Take physical inventory of each ingredient bin at start of each shift.
- Perform all work in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Other duties as assigned by plant management.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Good communication, verbal, written, and math skills.
- Team player with ability to cooperate with all employees.
- Understanding of cGMP’s.
- Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan.
- Knowledge of FSMA.
- Able to safely lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to working height.
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED.
