Seeking Volunteers to Help Those Affected By Local Disasters! - Grand Isle Area
American Red Cross of Northern New England seeks volunteers to provide 24‑hour emergency response to local disasters, especially house fires, ensuring those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. If you are a caring individual who wants to be on the front lines of emergency support, this is a great way to give back to your community in a meaningful way.
Responsibilities- Take required trainings to be equipped to support families/individuals displaced by local emergencies, including house fires.
- Sign up for on‑call shifts to respond when needed.
- Show compassion and respect for all clients and maintain client confidentiality.
- Help connect clients with Red Cross responses to meet basic needs after the emergency (shelter, food, clothing, medication, etc.) and refer when additional services may be required.
- Consider training to assist with larger‑scale national disasters in a variety of basic and advanced leadership roles.
We are seeking someone who is passionate about our Red Cross mission, has at least basic computer skills, effective communication skills, and flexibility. In‑person volunteer roles require COVID‑19 vaccination. Training will be provided.
