Registered Nurse (RN) – Community Residential Nursing
Position:
Registered Nurse, Full‑time, 30–40 hours per week, based in Washington County, Vermont. This role provides nursing assessment, oversight, and medication management for clients in community‑based residential homes in Waterbury, Montpelier, and Barre.
Directly responsible to:
Director of Nursing.
Key duties:
- Generate protocols and procedures as resident health conditions dictate.
- Ensure all medications are ordered, renewed and ready for administration by residential support staff.
- Delegate medication administration and special care procedures to staff.
- Coordinate and/or teach all annual medically related training to residential support staff, including Seizure Disorders, Infection Control, Medication Administration, etc.
- Promote respectful and effective communication among all partners, residents, staff, medical professionals, vendors, etc.
- Support the nursing department with other tasks as needed – coverage, trainings, etc.
- Other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in Vermont.
- Clinical skills to apply to clients of widely varied ages and health care needs.
- Experience with developmental or mental health needs preferred.
- Strong administrative and assessment skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation and benefits:
Hourly rate $38.70, comprehensive benefits including paid time off, employer‑sponsored health, dental, life, and disability insurances; 403(b) retirement plan with generous employer match; tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment.
