Pay Range: $15.75 – $27.50
SummaryProvides fast, friendly service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for the operation of the meat department in the absence of the meat manager. Cuts all meat in accordance with trim specifications and guidelines, ensures the quality and freshness of product in the meat case to promote optimal sales opportunities. Provides excellent customer service, both internally and externally, and adheres to all sanitation guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Consistently provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
- Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers upon fulfilling their requests.
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation, according to 5S standards, at all times.
- Cut meat using knives, saws, cubers, slicers and grinders.
- Operate the meat department in the absence of the meat manager.
- Ensure proper wrapping, weighing, labeling and displaying of all meat merchandise.
- Adhere to all company meat department standards (case layout and trim specifications).
- Follow proper sanitation and temperature guidelines to meet corporate and state inspection standards.
- Maintain grind logs and meat logs in line with store policy.
- Receive all meat merchandise (DSD and warehouse).
- Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
- Ability to pass a cutting test.
Satisfactory performance reviews. Basic computer skills. Strong communication skills. High School Degree or equivalent. 6–12 months of related experience.
Physical Requirements- Exposure to cold environment – constant 5–8 hours.

- Grasping/finger movement & dexterity – left/right hands constant 5–8 hours.
- Bending – frequent 3–5 hours.
- Twisting – frequent 3–5 hours.
Pivoting – frequent 3–5 hours. - Squatting/kneeling – occasional 1–3 hours.
- Pushing/pulling – occasional 1–3 hours up to 2400 lbs.
- Lifting – frequent 3–5 hours up to 50 lbs.
- Lifting – occasional 1–3 hours up to 75 lbs.
