Construction Laborer

Position Title

Laborer ($18‑$24 /hour)

Superintendent

The laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at various jobsites. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools, clean and prepare sites, remove rubble and debris, dispose of waste materials, and assist other craft workers.

• Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor
• Maintains a clean jobsite, picks up tools and equipment, and secures the site each day to eliminate potential hazards
• Building / Demolition activities
• Performs material handling and storage
• Loads and unloads trucks; hauls and hoists materials
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed; reports issues to the foreman and/or superintendent
• Provides assistance to craft workers
• Operates power tools
• Accepts direction from management and/or senior craftsmen
• Maintains a positive attitude
• Demonstrates a good work ethic and effort toward all assigned tasks
• Works as a team player
• Is willing to learn new tasks
• Shares knowledge and helps train others
• Communicates clearly with the team on the jobsite

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Prefer 1 year experience but willing to train the right individual
• Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) within a 30‑minute travel time
• Valid driver’s license required
• Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer & utility knife
• OSHA 10 training preferred; will provide if needed
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
• Excellent time‑management skills, ability to multi‑task and prioritize work
• Experience with computers and technology is a plus
• Works independently with minimal supervision

• Working hours:
  
  7:00 am to 3:30 pm; must arrive early enough to start at 7:00 am and be prepared to continue until 3:30 pm
• Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule

Special Comments:
