Maintenance Technician – South

Rural Edge is hiring a Maintenance Technician – South to manage the overall systems and building maintenance across 700+ units in the Hardwick area.

• Perform daily and preventative maintenance on rental apartments, including appliances, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair property issues in a timely manner.
• Complete work orders, inspections, and follow-up repairs.
• Maintain curb appeal and grounds, including debris removal and general cleaning.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor for state, federal, and funder inspections.
• Adhere to budget restrictions set by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Work on-call rotations on evenings, weekends, and holidays; occasional overtime and holiday work.
• Travel for trainings, required education or certification classes as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• General knowledge of plumbing, general carpentry, painting, electrical principles and techniques.
• Manual labor ability; work in all types of situations, including at heights.
• Ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, mobile devices.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and organizational skills.

Competitive salary: $37,440 – $40,800 per year. Full-time position. Rotating on-call coverage. Full benefits package available.
