YMCA Camp Abnaki is looking for an Assistant Waterfront Director to support all things water-related—swimming, boating, safety, and staff mentorship. The contract for this position is from June 11 through August 22. Opportunities for pre-season and post-season work may also be available.

• Support What Matters:
  Help oversee daily waterfront operations while keeping campers safe and engaged.
• Live Lakeside:
  From swim lessons to canoe races, the lake is your office with shared housing and meals included in compensation.

  Mentor lifeguards, assist with training, and strengthen your supervisory skills.

• Keep the Waterfront Running Smoothly:
  Assist the Waterfront Director in supervising and managing all waterfront activities.
• Train & Guide Staff:
  Help prepare lifeguards and waterfront team members through training, coaching, and daily support.
• Monitor Safety:
  Enforce waterfront rules, respond to emergencies, and help make informed calls about lake conditions.
• Keep Things Shipshape:
  Maintain waterfront equipment, boats, and facilities in top condition.
• Join Camp Fun:
  Assist with camp-wide programming, theme days, and evening events.
• Lead by Example:
  Model professionalism, teamwork, and the YMCA core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.

$630 - $782.52 / week based on a 6‑day workweek

• Must be 20 years of age.
• Current Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescue certifications (or ability to obtain prior to camp start).
• Experience supervising or leading aquatic activities, preferably in a camp or youth setting.
• Boater's license, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, or Waterfront Management certifications preferred.
• Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
• Must be willing to live on‑site for the duration of the camp season (housing and meals provided).
