General Definition of WorkThis position is responsible for providing customer service to all passengers and will include ground operations, aircraft cleaning, and security for inbound/outbound flights. Direction is provided by the Airline Station Leader and/or the Airline Lead Cross Utilized Agent, who are supervised by the Airport Director.
Essential Functions / Typical Tasks- Report promptly at the assigned time of duty for HGR Allegiant flights and remain on duty until the shift is complete.
- Represent the airline to passengers and assist with ticket sales, reservations, changes, and rebookings, providing friendly service and maintaining positive public relations.
- Conduct passenger check‑in and manage the movement of checked baggage.
- Provide airline information to passengers as required.
- Greet passengers at the terminal and direct them to the airline ticket counters.
- Assist in passenger boarding, including training to operate jet bridge.
- Help prepare and complete all paperwork associated with aircraft movement.
- Load and unload baggage of various weight and dimensions to and from aircraft and applicable airport baggage areas.
- Marshal aircraft in and out of the gate area.
- Complete all required computer‑based training and on‑the‑job training within 60 days of hire.
- Attend monthly computer‑based training sessions.
- Participate in training classes such as De‑icing, Ground Security Coordination, Ramp Observers, Gate Agent, Marshaller, Food Service, and Snack Bar attendant.
- Perform related tasks as required.
Skills and Abilities
The representative should be friendly, prompt, and courteous. Must be able to escort passengers, push wheelchairs, handle complaints calmly, and provide information over the PA system or otherwise. Must know procedures for unaccompanied minors, law enforcement officers, Hazmat, and air‑freight guidelines.
Education and ExperienceEntry‑level; high‑school graduate (or equivalent) and at least 18 years old. Basic math skills and experience handling ticket sales are preferred but not required.
Physical RequirementsAbility to lift luggage up to 60+ pounds repeatedly. Must be able to enter ticket information and use the computer, with a typing speed of at least 30 wpm. Clear reading, writing, and speaking English required. A valid MD Class C driver’s license or equivalent is required.
Special RequirementsSuccessful background investigation (no criminal history, 10‑year or longer check) and a drug test. Security clearance required ft work is required, including weekends and holidays. Flexibility is essential.
