Do you want to teach the art of soaring next summer in the cool mountains of Vermont? Would you like to work with an amazing team of dedicated aviators, instructing motivated and engaged students in a truly special place?
Sugarbush Soaring Association, based at the Warren-Sugarbush Airport (0B7) in Warren, Vermont, is seeking a professional
Certified Flight Instructor Glider (CFI-G) to join our team for the
2026 season.
Sugarbush Soaring is a dynamic, well established glider operation known forhigh quality flight instruction,vibrant youth programs, and astrong, supportive membership community. Our season runs frommid-May through late October, offering scenic rides for the public, flight instruction, and active member flying.
We’re looking for instructors (ideally those who are also qualified as towpilots) who enjoy teaching and working with young people. Our Youth Soaring Camps attract teens from across the country, giving them a chance to receive top quality instruction, explore aviation related topics, and build friendships through shared interests and fun activities. Our Line Crew program, another core part of our operation, provides local youth with hands on experience and inspires future aviators.
We seek an FAA certificated
Flight Instructor Glider (CFI G) with experience in glider instruction, a passion for flying, and a desire to share that passion with students and passengers. At Sugarbush, teamwork and safety come first. We strive to ensure every flight is safe, rewarding, and fun. This is apaid, seasonal (mid-May through end-October) staff positionofferingexcellent compensation, with housing available(based on applicant needs).
The Warren-Sugarbush Airport is widely regarded as an exceptional and technical soaring site, offering mountain wave, thermal, and ridge flying. Visiting pilots often describe it as “one of the most beautiful airports they have ever seen.”
This is an ideal summer opportunity for someone looking to escape the southern heat and spend the season in theMad River Valley, a region theNew York Timescalled “Quintessential Vermont.” The valley offers endless opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping, and is just an hour from Burlington, home to Lake Champlain, great food, music, and culture. Vermont’s food, community, and art scenes are world class, and many who spend time here fall in love with the place.
