Job Description 3>The Kingdom East School District, Student Services, is seeking an Intensive Instructional Assistant (IIA) to work at the Sutton KEAP program. The IIA will work 3:00‑5:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays during the school year, with additional hours available upon request.
The purpose of the position is to develop individual student needs by creating and implementing behavior and instructional support programs in consultation with KEAP staff and the special educator. The IIA will be trained in Handle With Care and must be able to physically assist students in all program activities.
Candidates must successfully complete the Para Pro assessment or hold an associate’s degree or higher. The IIA will provide observable student data to support program goals for students with early childhood, developmental delay and/or other special needs, helping them access instruction in a developmentally appropriate, functional and independent manner. A background check, including fingerprinting, is required.
Qualifications- High School or Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Ability to work evenings and after school hours.
- Experience or training working with children with special needs is an asset.
