Diesel Technician Mechanic

Targeting Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technicians with strong mechanical repair skills.

• Hourly Pay: $34.00 per hour
• Sign On Bonus: $3,000
• Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE Certification (up to $700)
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter - four times per year
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, weekends off

  10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Mid Shift)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard maintenance, component inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers and tools.
• Identify root causes of failures and perform required repairs.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Maintain facility and shop equipment, assist with service island support, and other support duties.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
• Use the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Comply with federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred).
• Basic mechanical tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Minimum two years of classroom training or work experience (preferred).
• Valid Commercial Driver Licence (CDL) Class A (preferred).

• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire (if not already).
• Pass Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass DOT Physical.
• Pass Ryder Road Test.
• Pass Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle Check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer assigned.
