This hands‑on entry‑level law‑enforcement role focuses on maintaining a safe and secure environment. You will supervise inmates, ensuring their physical and medical needs are met. Responsibilities include the full intake process—creating arrest records and reports, fingerprinting, and taking mug shots.

• Supervise inmates on work details.
• Perform general facility maintenance and repairs.
• Keep the jail and recreation areas clean.
• Participate in interstate extradition transports to Nevada, Colorado, and Wyoming.

• High‑school graduate or GED required.
• Must have successfully completed the Police Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy for Correctional Officer Certification.
• No prior experience required.
• County may provide P.O.S.T. training, which includes a two‑year commitment to work for the county after completion.

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Utah State driver’s license.
• Work rotating shift schedule.
• On‑call 24 hours.
• Complete 40 hours of training per year to maintain certification.

Full‑time position offering $25.50 an hour, depending on experience.
