Medical Technologist

Overview

The Medical Laboratory Tech / Medical Laboratory Scientist performs laboratory testing, working closely with the Laboratory Director, Pathologists, and Technologists to deliver prompt and accurate results for patients. This is a full-time evening shift position, 1:00 pm-11:00 pm, on a 7 on / 7 off rotation.

• Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission regulations.
• Work independently, responding promptly to codes, traumas, and emergencies.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring quality control.
• Manage logs, patient result data, and specimen accession.
• Report STAT results within 60 minutes, perform manual tests as needed, and set up bacterial cultures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician through ASCP, AMT, or equivalent
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Clinical Lab Science or related field
• Preferred hospital experience
