Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.Recommend items to ensure customer satisfaction.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.Follow food safety and temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.Label, package, and inventory ingredients.Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.Properly use kitchen equipment and maintain temperature logs.Stock and inventory merchandise, report discrepancies.Assist customers in locating products and answer questions about products.Maintain knowledge of products and current promotions.Ensure proper temperatures and maintain safety and sanitation standards.Practice safety procedures, report unsafe conditions or accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflicts professionally.Follow directions, seek assistance when needed, and support diverse customer needs.Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Qualifications
- Customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit
