Resident Mine Technician

Wheeler Machinery Co. (Vernal, UT) is seeking a safety‑minded Resident Mine Technician to maintain and repair heavy equipment on the Simplot Phosphates mine site. Full-time, night shift (6:00 pm–6:00 am). 7 days on, 7 days off schedule; overtime, weekends, and out‑of‑town work may be required.

• Utilize TRACK and maintain safe working habits.
• Perform field‑service troubleshooting and repair on all CAT equipment.
• Maintain field‑service truck and company‑provided equipment.
• Complete daily reports, paperwork, MSHA standards and inspections.
• Work nights, weekends and overtime as needed.

• Clean MVR (no more than 1 moving violation under 25, no more than 2 if over 25).
• Safety‑conscious with a clean safety record; willingness to comply with customer and MSHA requirements.
• Journeyman technician classification.
• Good working knowledge of CAT equipment.
• Excellent work ethic, self‑motivation, ability to work safely with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Work a customized 7‑on, 7‑off shift; schedule subject to change.

• Residence near Vernal, UT (living in the area not required).
• All tools required for field‑service repair.
• Willing and able to keep up with new technology.
• Willing and able to work overtime, nights and weekends.
• Field‑service experience at a Caterpillar dealership.
• Efficient using Cat ET and SIS.
• Current MSHA certification.
