Senior Consultant – Financial Services – Audit Insurance

Join KPMG Switzerland as a Senior Consultant in the Financial Services line of business. Your role will focus on auditing annual financial statements and assessing compliance with supervisory laws for insurance, asset managers and banks supervised by FINMA or FOPH.

Location: Geneva, Lausanne
Start date: By arrangement
Workload: 1

Responsibilities
  • Run financial statement audits applying KPMG's audit and accounting practices/methodologies
  • Conduct regulatory audits at insurance companies supervised by FINMA and FOPH using KPMG's regulatory audit methodology
  • Coordinate and take responsibility for planning, execution and completion of audit assignments
  • Research and resolve technical queries
  • Handle ad-hoc regulatory assignments and advisory projects
  • Review and supervise the work of junior auditors
  • Communicate and present reports to management on identified audit issues
  • Report directly to partners, directors and managers, working toward individual and firm goals and targets
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting and/or Financial Audit
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant coursework will be offered (Swiss CPA)
  • At least 2 years' experience in Financial Services Audit at a Big 4 or major audit firm
  • Basic knowledge of Swiss regulatory environment
  • Swiss GAAP FER and IFRS knowledge is a plus
  • Fluency in English and French (oral and written is a must);
    German is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, strong attention to detail
  • Dedication to high standards of client service and professionalism
  • Proactive, stress‑resilient, flexible and willing to travel
