Friendly Fast Foods Inc. in Vernon, BC is seeking an Accounting Technician to start immediately.

Wage: $28.00 per hour
Hours Per Week:32-40
Language: English
Education: College diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or equivalent
Experience: 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

Role

The Accounting Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization. This role contributes to the financial integrity of the company through proper recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance with applicable legislation and company policies.

Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Maintain financial records and establish, maintain, and balance accounts using manual and computerized systems
  • Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, including bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare trial balances and assist with financial statements and working papers
  • Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate financial data
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Process invoices, verify transactions, and manage accounts payable
  • Prepare and issue invoices and follow up on receivables and collections
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Payroll & Compliance
  • Assist with payroll preparation, including calculating wages and deductions
  • Prepare and submit statutory remittances including payroll deductions, GST/PST, and other filings
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation
Reporting & Administration
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Generate financial and management reports as required
  • Maintain organized and secure filing systems
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting department
Requirements
  • Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
