Position: Accounting Clerk I
Location: Lake Country

The District of Lake Country has an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Accounting Clerk I (35 hours per week) based in Lake Country, BC
.

Reporting to the Finance Manager/Deputy CFO, the Accounting Clerk I will be responsible for ensuring the financial and accounting records of the municipality are accurately prepared and maintained in accordance with District policies, procedures, and bylaws.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, maintain and reconcile records and sub-ledgers for accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgets, utility accounts, property taxation and business licensing;
  • Process and reconcile bill payments, purchase orders, EFTs, property tax payments, homeowner grant applications, cash receipts and journal entries;
  • Answer public and internal inquiries relating to financial matters, bylaws and policies.
Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of two years' work experience in an Accounting position and at least one year of post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration, preferably in a municipal setting.
