Position: Building Official Position Lake Country
Location: Lake Country

Join the District of Lake Country as a permanent, full-time Building Official I, II, or III. Focus on compliance with B.C. Building Codes and engage with the community to support quality construction.

This role reports to the Manager of Building and Bylaw Services. You'll conduct inspections, examine construction plans, and promote proper development within the District. Your work will involve enforcing codes, addressing public inquiries, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role is ideal for those with a building technology background and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete comprehensive building inspections per BC Building Act

• Identify construction deficiencies related to health and safety

• Manage building permit files from application to occupancy

• Interpret and ensure compliance with Building Code regulations

• Coordinate with multiple departments for regulatory compliance

Requirements:

• Diploma in engineering or building technology, plus three years of experience

• Level I qualification from the Building Officials Association of BC

• Level I plumbing official qualification for Building Official III

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

• Strong communication skills for public interactions
