Public Works Construction Operator II Position

Location: Lake Country

Join the District of Lake Country as a full-time Public Works Construction Operator II. This role involves skilled civil construction projects and operating heavy machinery in Lake Country, BC.

As a vital member of the Public Works team, you will report directly to the Construction Crew Leader. Your responsibilities will include working on water, sanitary, and storm sewer projects while effectively utilizing equipment like backhoes and excavators. Collaboration across utilities is key, especially in emergency scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment for civil construction tasks

• Conduct traffic control and manage customer inquiries

• Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations

• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment

• Assist with snow removal and minor building projects

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education required

• At least two years in civil construction

• One-year experience with water or sanitary systems

• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license;
Class 3 preferred

• Strong communication skills and collaborative attitude
