The City of Vernon seeks three temporary Labourers to assist with essential construction and maintenance activities. You'll help direct traffic, install and repair sewer and water pipes, and maintain public spaces throughout various projects. Additionally, you'll be expected to perform duties like snow removal, debris cleanup, and operating power equipment safely.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct traffic and set warning barriers at work sites
• Assist with installing and repairing sewer and water pipes
• Clear public spaces of snow, ice, or debris
• Operate equipment like jack hammers, drills, and compactors
• Maintain landscape beds through planting and mulching tasks
Requirements:
• Experience in general construction and maintenance work
• Current BC Driver’s License Class 5
• Knowledge of safety policies and WCB regulations
• Capable of heavy manual outdoor work
• Ability to adapt to changing work schedules
