Vernon Recreation Area Leader Position

Become a Program Area Leader for summer recreation at BGC Okanagan in Vernon, BC. This full-time role supports our programs from June 30 to August 25, 2026, ensuring an engaging environment for children and families.

This position involves actively planning and implementing recreation activities while supervising program operations. You will collaborate with community service providers and manage public outreach efforts. Your leadership will directly enhance the quality of programs offered and foster connections within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement diverse activities for children and youth

• Manage daily program operations to maintain standards

• Liaise with community partners for effective service

• Develop promotional materials to engage the public

• Maintain accurate program records and reports

Requirements:

• Diploma or similar experience in recreation or education

• First Aid certification mandatory

• 20 Hours Responsible Adult training or willing to learn

• Class 4 Driver’s Licence or intent to obtain

• Completion of a Criminal Record Check is essential
