K-8 Handwork and Visual Arts Teacher

Okanagan Waldorf School is searching for a creative Handwork and Visual Arts Teacher for K-8, part-time at 0.3

FTE. Share your passion for the arts while fostering student growth in a supportive environment.

This part-time role for the 2026/27 school year requires a teacher experienced in watercolour painting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Ideal candidates will hold a Waldorf Certificate or BC Teaching Certificate and have a passion for nurturing children's creative abilities. Responsibilities also include lesson planning, attending faculty meetings, and ensuring stable classroom management while building relationships within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach watercolour painting, handwork, knitting, crocheting, and sewing

• Attend faculty and department meetings regularly

• Prepare written student reports and meet with parents

• Plan and implement school festivals and activities

• Collaborate with staff and participate in community events

Requirements:

• Experience in handwork and visual arts

• Ability to obtain BC Teachers Regulation Branch Certification

• Clear Criminal Record

• Willingness to work in a rural setting

• Strong classroom management skills
