Position: Education Assistant for Okanagan Indian Band
Become an integral part of student education as an On-Call Education Assistant at the Okanagan Indian Band Cultural Immersion School. Support students' academic and social development in a nurturing environment.

As an Education Assistant, you will directly support classroom teachers in aiding students with unique learning needs. Your responsibilities will include one-on-one literacy and math assistance, active participation in developing IEPs, and providing a safe and responsive classroom atmosphere. You'll also supervise students during breaks and support their overall developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with organizing lesson materials and planning

• Deliver small group educational support under teacher supervision

• Supervise students during outdoor play and lunchtime

• Offer insights into students’ Individual Education Plans

• Promote respectful interactions and positive behavior

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

• Preferred certification as an Education Assistant

• Valid First Aid/CPR certification

• Two years of relevant experience preferred

• Familiarity with Okanagan culture preferred
