Okanagan Waldorf School seeks a passionate part-time K-8 Handwork Teacher (0.3
FTE) to inspire students through handwork and visual arts. Embrace a teaching role focused on creativity and individual growth.
Ideal candidates will have experience teaching handwork, including knitting, crocheting, and watercolour painting, within a private school setting. A Waldorf Certificate or ability to obtain BC Teaching Certification is preferred. Responsibilities include developing engaging lesson plans, managing the classroom effectively, and fostering collaborative relationships with students, parents, and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct students in handwork techniques and watercolour painting
• Attend faculty meetings and collaborate on educational strategies
• Prepare detailed student reports and maintain communication with parents
• Participate in festival planning and community initiatives
• Establish a nurturing and organized classroom environment
Requirements:
• Experience with handwork and visual arts education
• Ability to achieve BC Teachers Regulation Branch Certification
• Valid Clear Criminal Record
• Commit to working in a rural forest and farm environment
• Demonstrated strong classroom management abilities
