The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Counseling and significant teaching and counseling experience. Preferred applicants will self-declare Indigenous ancestry and demonstrate strong personal and interpersonal skills, including empathy and effective listening to foster student relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
• Address students' behavioral and emotional concerns
• Employ effective communication and mediation techniques
• Build trusting relationships with children and youth
• Collaborate with staff and community for student advocacy
• Implement support strategies and programs for student success
Requirements:
• Master’s degree with relevant counseling coursework
• At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
• Demonstrated successful counseling experience
• Certifiable with BC Teachers Regulation Branch
• Crisis response training and intervention skills
