You will provide essential assistance to designated Indigenous students in the Seaton Family of Schools, working closely with teachers to address individual learning needs. Your efforts will help foster a positive self-image and a love for learning among Indigenous youth, creating lasting impacts on their educational journeys. This temporary 30-hour per week position extends to March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work individually and in small groups with Indigenous students
• Assist teachers with specialized educational materials
• Promote cultural awareness through program development
• Encourage positive self-identity and student engagement
• Accompany students on field trips as needed
Requirements:
• Completion of a relevant Education Assistant Certificate
• At least 4 months of experience with Indigenous youth
• Understanding of local Indigenous cultures and values
• Proficiency in current educational technology
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
