The Okanagan Indian Band (OKIB) seeks an On-Call Education Assistant to provide crucial support to students with high needs. You will assist teachers with lesson preparation, small group instruction, and one-on-one literacy and math support. Promoting physical and emotional growth while ensuring a safe learning environment is key in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Teachers with material organization and lesson prep
• Provide one-on-one support in literacy and math
• Help manage student behavior through positive reinforcement
• Supervise outdoor play during recess and field trips
• Collaborate on Individual Education Plans for student progress
Requirements:
• Grade 12 diploma;
Certified Education Assistant preferred
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Two years of experience as an Education Assistant preferred
• Familiarity with First Nations communities
• Knowledge of Okanagan culture is an asset
