We are looking for a full‑time Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. The ideal candidate has experience in structural and mechanical design. This position will be based in the Vernon, BC office.

• Lead design engineer for a variety of mineral processing equipment including structural frames & supports, silos, and tanks.
• Participate in the design, detailing, 3D modelling and drafting of fabrication and assembly drawings/procedures.
• Optimize structural steel and plate designs.
• Generate design reports detailing required member sizes, plate details and connection details. These will include isometric drawings, utilization ratios and applicable safety factors.
• Perform seismic, snow and wind load calculations according to Canadian, American and international building codes.
• Prepare foundation load drawings. Includes load tables and anchor requirements.
• Participate in concept studies, preparing preliminary designs and estimates.
• Lifting and rigging plans.
• Supporting other engineering teams in structural related activities, including sales.
• Comply with internal engineering standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Professional Engineer Designation in Canada (P.Eng.)

• Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy structural steel design in mining, construction or related industries.
• Expert in STAAD and/or SAP
  2000.
• Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Canadian, American and International Building Codes.
• Familiarity with various design standards, such as CSA S16 and API 650.
• Above average experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent communication and multi‑tasking skills required.

Pay: CA $90,000.00 – CA$ per year
