Location: Lake Country
Serve your community as a Paid On Call Firefighter with the Lake Country Fire Department. Engage in critical emergency response and participate in vital public safety training.
The District of Lake Country is looking for dedicated volunteers aged 19 and up to join their firefighting team. Candidates should meet NFPA medical standards and hold a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license. This impactful role requires commitment to training, emergency response, and public engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be available for a variety of emergency calls, including fires
• Complete a comprehensive training program spanning 33 weeks
• Engage in community education events regarding fire safety
• Attend routine practice nights once cleared for participation
• Ensure a minimum annual response rate of 75% for call-outs
Requirements:
• Must be at least 19 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Good driving history with Class 5 BC license
• Willingness to complete a criminal background check
• Ability to participate in fitness assessments with medical approval
