Salary Range: $64,356.83 - $72,835.33 annually, which includes a 4 Grid/3.0% Market Adjustment*
The Team
The Vernon Court Registry is a dedicated group of approximately 13 staff in Vernon and 4 in Salmon Arm, made up of both experienced and newer team members who support the efficient and effective operations of all levels of court. Working collaboratively with probation officers, law enforcement, Crown counsel, the judiciary, and the public, the team is known for its professionalism, accuracy, and strong commitment to supporting access to justice in a respectful and supportive environment.
The Role
The Court Clerk supports court operations by accurately capturing digital recordings of court proceedings, processing confidential information using specialized software, and responding to public inquiries with empathy, curiosity, and sensitivity. This position offers a unique perspective into court processes and plays a meaningful part in ensuring timely access to justice, while providing opportunities for both personal and professional growth in a dynamic and sometimes emotionally challenging environment.
Qualifications:
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent
- Two years recent experience in a legal office, or a combination of two years education, experience or training in a legal related field.
- Experience in working with various digital systems and applications.
- Must have a minimum keyboarding speed of 40 WPM.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience in JUSTIN and/or CEIS or experience working in a court registry.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience delivering customer service.
