The Okanagan West Kootenay Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams operate in vibrant, growing communities with a deep commitment to collaboration and innovation. Working across multiple locations, our clinicians are part of a broad network of professionals supporting children, youth, and families through a full spectrum of mental health services. The RoleAs a CYMH Clinician, you’ll support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families through direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0–18. Working flexibly across homes, schools, communities, and offices, you’ll collaborate with professionals including educators, healthcare providers, Indigenous service organizations, and community agencies to deliver holistic care. This role is ideal for those who value meaningful client relationships, teamwork, and lifelong learning.

We currently have a permanent 0.6 FTE (48 hours bi‑weekly) vacancy in the following location:
Castlegar.

Castlegar, Nelson, West Kelowna, Vernon, Nakusp and Keremeos.
– Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
- NOTE:
If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). - Minimum of 1 year full‑time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community‑based mental health services.
- Applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community‑based mental health services.
- Applicants who self‑identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
- You must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license (note - if you currently have a valid driver’s license in Canada, and if you are the successful applicant, you must acquire a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license immediately).

Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position, but at a lower classification.
