Support individuals at home with the Okanagan Indian Band as a Home Support Worker. Engage clients through companionship, housekeeping, and care management in a community-focused environment.
The Okanagan Indian Band seeks a dedicated Home Support Worker to assist elders and persons with disabilities. You'll deliver essential services such as light cooking, transportation, and companionship while ensuring clients remain in their homes as per care plans.
Experience with First Nations communities and a commitment to cultural sensitivity is crucial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and schedule individual client services
• Maintain accurate and effective client records
• Foster trust within the caregiver-client relationship
• Assist with daily living tasks per care plans
• Support falls prevention through home management
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education
• Certification as a Home Support Worker
• Experience in caregiving or home support roles
• Valid BC Driver’s License;
Class 4 is an asset
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
